Robert Redford’s first directorial project after The Legend of Bagger Vance is an adaptation by Lem Dobbs (The Score; The Limey) of a book by Neil Gordon. It follows a single dad who is living a quiet upper-middle-class life as an attorney in upstate New York. But his past comes back to haunt him when a story surfaces that he was the shooter in a bank robbery years ago, when he was a member of the radical group called the Weather Underground. The man must go on the run to find an old girlfriend who may be able to prove his innocence.
I read this description and I think: Three More Days For the Condor. Which is probably not a bad thing. The story of a man revisiting his wild youth in the 1960s will likely speak to a lot of baby boomers and with the right cast and the usual fine work from Fox Searchlight (Bend it Like Beckham; One Hour Photo) we could have a solid sleeper hit, possibly also Oscar buzz.

Redford’s next project is some movie about walking thru some mountains. This was delisted as a dead stock today.
